I’m that kind of guy who aliases ls to ls -alFGh.
This also means that I get to see all the dotfolders in my ~. While this never really have been an issue, after I got Steam for Linux, I can really begin to see how necessary it is with a standard.

At the time of writing this, I have 74 Steam for Linux games, which I can successfully launch.

Looking at it right now, it is 34 entries in my home directory, out of 138. And I’m not even sure that all of my games have actually made a save and written to the ~ yet.

I mean either the developers should respect the XDG Base Directory Specification, maybe save their settings and savegames in a Steam folder or at least gather all saves for multiple games in a parent directory.
For instance, Puppy Games don’t need 6 folders in my home. Look at it!
Both Gear Up and Solar 2 creates a non-dot folder, what is the purpose of that? I like to keep my ~ clean as a whistle, and I happen to delete ‘random’ folders, which Library and SavedGames looks like to me; something WINE and GNOME would plaster all over my home folder.
